PS145M Graduation Livestream: How We Captured the Ceremony at Trevor Day School

A Graduation to Remember — Live and Online
The PS145M graduation livestream took place at Trevor Day School’s state-of-the-art auditorium in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. While the venue offered high-tech AV capabilities, the school brought us in—Halucinated Studios—to elevate the moment with multi-camera production and a seamless livestream that families could watch from anywhere.
🎥 Inside the PS145M Graduation Livestream Setup
We set up a four-camera livestream system to capture every beautiful moment:
Camera 1: Back of auditorium for a wide shot + zoomed in shots
Camera 2: Middle-right aisle for side coverage
Camera 3: Stage-left with a close-up lens for intimate moments
Camera 4: Directly on the podium for speaker close-ups
We also used a telescopic lens to zoom in on graduates as they walked across the stage—giving families watching at home a close-up of their star in the spotlight.
🔊 Sound That Brings You There
Audio came straight from the venue’s sound booth, routed cleanly into our system via two XLRs connected to our audio interface. That fed directly into:
Our Blackmagic ATEM video switcher
A MacBook Pro for streaming
Vimeo’s livestream server
🌐 From Stage to Screen—Streaming to the PS145M Website
The livestream was embedded directly on PS145M’s homepage via Vimeo and Wix. Families simply had to go to ps145m.org to tune in—no clunky links or login issues.
Even better? The stream is still available on the site. Anyone can go back and rewatch the ceremony, relive the performances, or find that one special moment again and again.
🎬 The Value of an Archived Stream
Livestreaming is just the beginning. As more years pass and more graduations are documented, PS145M will be able to:
